Often times, we hear parents complaining about their children’s lack of listening. The children clearly heard what they were told to do but they have failed to act upon it. A lot of us have a resembling relationship with God as these kids do with their parents. By definition, hearing is to perceive or to receive whereas listening means to obey.
In the beginning, God made man from dust and breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person (Genesis 2:7). Man was not just given life, but life abundantly. A life humans failed to live past Genesis 2 despite the warnings of the Lord concerning the fruit of their disobedience.They fell for the temptation to become their own gods.
Quiet often I come across plenty of people who would love to be on fire for God. They ‘believe’ they have the desire to change and they absolutely love God but they struggle to achieve the change. I once was like one of these people, I was thirsty for change. However, for over a year, I failed to realize the chains that kept me imprisoned in my old-self despite my desire to be made and stay new.
Christianity is come as you are NOT stay as you are!
The message I am sharing with you today has been burning in my belly for months. Before God made us, He knew us. He predestined our lives before He introduced us to this fallen world. The people we are destined to be is manifested when we surrender our will to live under God’s will for our lives.

My life on earth began two decades ago in the beautiful city of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. My mother suffered from complications when she was about 9 months pregnant, so she had to undergo surgery during labor. The doctors operated on her with the determination to save her life & let me die. Man was sure I would die…but ‘Before God formed me, HE knew me, before I was born HE set me apart.’ – Jeremiah 1:5 WOW! HE saved my life, which is why I was named MERCY.
I once used to be the girl who dreamt of attracting Boaz without being Ruth. Boaz was the God fearing husband of Ruth. Their story is found in the book of Ruth. For many years I struggled to solve my puzzle of attracting flies instead of real warriors of the Lord. Little did I know WASTE only attracts flies.
TO EVERY SEASON, THERE IS A REASON.

Indeed! I was dead to the truth I am about to share with you for over five years, all due to a lack of knowledge. My heart breaks seeing many ladies today who ‘proclaim’ to be Christians but seem to have lost sense of their ‘worth’. They have separated their spiritual lives from their love life.
MAN UP GOD’S WAY!
This blog was written for the encouragement of both single and non-single Christian men as half of the text is concerning manhood which isn’t an issue of single men alone. I believe, the church today is in need of less ‘church boys’ and a lot more ‘men of God’ who are strong enough in their faith to walk as ambassadors of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20) and inspire their youngsters as well as leading women on the path of righteousness rather than distraction.
